Guidance for Exporters
Preparation of Export Documents
1. Registration
All persons desirous of exporting must be registered with
the Guyana Revenue
Authority (GRA), Customs & Trade Administration Department.
- The following documents must be presented for registration:
- Personal Identification (ID Card or Passport)
- Proof of residence (GPL or GT&T bills, etc)
- In the case of a business, the business registration must be
supplied with identification of a representative(s)
- A photocopy of your ID Card or Passport must also be supplied

Exporters of fruits and vegetables to the United States of America must
be registered with the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA). This registration
can be done at the GMC
(contact us) or online on the FDA's
website. Exporters must also have an 'Import Permit' from the US Department
of Agriculture.
Exporters of fruits and vegetables to Trinidad & Tobago must have
an 'Import Permit' from the Trinidad & Tobago Department of Agriculture..
Exporters of fruits and vegetables to Barbados and/ or Antigua must:
1 Register with the Plant Quarantine Unit of the Guyana Ministry of Fisheries,
Crops & Livestock, Regent & New Garden Streets, Georgetown.
2. Register with the Plant Health Unit of Barbados and/ or Antigua as
appropriate

Farmers can be added to the list of registered
farmers on request to the Plant Quarantine Unit. The farm would
be visited and examined. Complete the form below and visit us..

3. Purchase produce only from registered farmers (a list can be purchased
from the GMC cashier)
4. Take the produce to GMC's Central Packaging
Facility in Sophia, Georgetown, where it will be inspected by Plant
Quarantine Officers; and a Phytosanitary Certificate would be issued.
